Please take a moment to read Ashleigh’s story. Ashleigh is a loving wife, daughter, friend and mother of two children. In the spring of this year, while pregnant with her second child, she was diagnosed with Stage 3, Triple Negative Breast Cancer. As Triple Negative Breast Cancer is extremely aggressive, complicated to treat, and has a high rate of reoccurrence, chemotherapy began while she was still pregnant. Baby Reid arrived a few months later a happy, healthy baby boy, and Ashleigh continued chemo, followed by surgery. Post-surgery analysis indicated that chemo treatments were ineffective and while the tumor was removed, her lymph nodes were positive for cancer cells.
I am writing to you on behalf of Fight Like a Girl, a fundraising event in support of Ashleigh Yetman and her family as she fights to WIN her battle with cancer. To give Ashleigh the best fighting chance, her doctor has written referrals to specialty clinics in Toronto and the US, which of course will be a costly endeavor, not to mention the lost wages being away from work for treatments. Of all the worries that come along with fighting cancer, and having a young family, money shouldn’t be one of them.
